so ends the first day of Gryphons cup 2006. been a disaster as far as i'm concerned. well, sort of. therefore, i will not dwell on it. move on. all i got from the session from rjc today were an uneven tan, sore arms and legs, and a heavy dose of nostalgia.
walking through RI after the games, cutting through the main block, many memories re-entered me. days when i was prepetually late and had to sprint up to the 3rd floor classroom, deposit my bag and sprint down again to the parade square, hoping to be on time for flag-raising. of course i repeated that process frequently in rjc, but in ri, punctuality was a more serious issue, or so i thought then. was young and gullible what.. the astro-turf is one place i won't forget in a hurry. back then, we even had our own GEP-league soccer! five classes, five teams. it was jolly good fun, even if we always had to fight with our neighbouring class to avoid last-place dishonours. and so began the p vs q soccer matches even after we graduated from RI. the astro-turf was also where i scored for my class in the opening inter-class soccer match. memorable, given lots of people were surrounding the place to watch. won't forget that game. fun fun fun. the atrium, remembered as the venue for arts at the atrium every friday. and where we sometimes have our lifeskills lessons, like our year head (or whatever the position's called) ms selva would give not-so-inspiring inspiration talks when we were misbehaving and stuff..
memories, what are they worth?
